Kimihiko Nagata, based in France, is a management consultant. His consulting areas include global strategy, change management in multicultural contexts and Asian business.

 

He served as part-time lecturer at Université Paris-Dauphine and as project professor for the Center for Global Education at the University of Kitakyushu.

 

His teaching and research areas include global business strategy, leadership in multicultural context, post-M&A integration, intercultural management and international career development.

Kimihiko Nagata currently serves as a management consultant in global strategy, change management and global talent. Since 1997, initially as Senior Consultant in charge of Asian Projects for the Lyon Chamber of Commerce & Industry, then as an independent consultant, he has helped many multinational corporations and public organizations for their strategic projects in transcultural context, particularly between Europe and Asia. His clients include L’Oréal, Renault-Nissan, Axa, Komatsu, JC Decaux, Kuka, Areva-Mitsubishi Heavy Industry, UCB, Sanofi and JETRO.

 

He served as part-time lecturer at Université Paris-Dauphine and as project professor and a committee member for the Global Education Program at the University of Kitakyushu. 

His teaching and research areas include global business strategy, leadership in multicultural context, post-M&A integration, intercultural management and international career development.

 

Prior to moving into strategic consulting and academic career, he held executive positions for 7 years in various international environments. Initially, in Japan, he worked as Corporate Staff of Japan Travel Bureau Inc. (annual sales 1,137¥billion, 26,000 employees), where he implemented a number of cross-functional (corporate planning, marketing & sales, human resources development) and cross-cultural (USA, Europe, Asia) projects. Then, in France, he carried out, as Managing Director, the "Turnaround Management in Post-Acquisition Stage” of a French SME in medical field, and realised performance record in post-acquisition stage.

 

Born in Eniwa, Japan, Kimihiko received a bachelor degree of Literature from Seinan Gakuin University in Fukuoka, Japan, a degree in International Business Management from Tsuda Graduate School of Business in Tokyo, as well as a Master of Business Administration from EM Lyon (the Lyon Graduate School of Management).

 

He is a regular columnist (Nikkei Net of Nikkei Newspaper Group: 25 columns from 2007-2010, Diamond Online: 13 columns since 2011~) and has authored numerous books and articles on the specialized papers in corporate management, global business and human resources management. He is trilingual (English, French and Japanese) and has been a frequent speaker and moderator at academic conferences, business seminars and workshops in Europe and Asia.
